C1900 FAQ

    Question:
I have lost/stripped the threaded copper/brass inserts of the case. Are they available for purchase and how difficult are they to install?

Answer: The factory does not offer these inserts for sale. However, the inserts can be obtained from various hardware stores. The most frequently lost or damaged are the inserts used to secure the Main Board.  These inserts have the following specs:

    Metric Thread: M3-0.05
    Hole Size: 5/32"
    Part: E-Z LOK 240-M3BR

As for installation/practical to replace. The case uses two styles of insert  installation. The first kind is a stud with a drilled center to accommodate a press insert (such as the Main Board inserts). These are very simple to install. The second style has the stud with a molded lip over the insert (such as the chart plate door insert). These inserts are not practical to repair because the likelyhood of damaging the stud is very high.

Solution: If you need a press insert (see images below), then order the individual inserts required. If you need a molded insert, then we recommend ordering a complete case.
