To change modes of operation, use the pull-down menu near the bottom part.
-
To adjust U values manually, first choose Manual mode and then either use
the scrollbar to the right of the bottom plot and/or use step change buttons
near the bottom.
-
Once under Relay mode, text boxes should appear to allow changes to values
of u0 and h.
Note: When values are being edited in the text boxes, the
font should change to red. To accept the input, hit [ENTER] or [TAB], then
the font should change back to black, indicating that the value has been
changed.
-
Under PID mode, you can toggle on and off, the integral and derivative
modes. Text boxes will appear when the parameters are on.
-
To change the setpoint, use the scrollbar to the right of the top plot.
The red line will move to indicate the setpoint changes, while the box
in the upper right corner shows the current value.
-
To suspend the process temporarily, click on the PAUSE button near the
top edge. The button changes to RESUME to allow the process to continue.
(However, take note that this type of process suspension is not
present in real time processes. It is included here simply to facilitate
the following procedures: 1) send the picture for printing, 2) allow time
for setting PID parameters 3) allow time for changes in Relay parameters
4) allow for manual step changes in either u or setpoint.)
After a few seconds, a DATA button will appear.
Clicking the DATA button will show a window containing the time, input
and output data.
To transfer these data to other programs such as spreadsheets, mathematics
packages or word processors, put the cursor inside the window and select
the text to copy and transfer to the clipboard. (In Windows, right click
on the mouse and choose SELECT ALL, then right click on the mouse again
and choose copy). Proceed to the desired program, e.g. the spreadsheet
and choose PASTE function on the desired location.
To remove the data window, just click on the HIDE DATA button.
To resume simulation, click on the RESUME button.

Before sending the page to printout, place some text in the appropriate
areas located in the lower left section for both some notes
as well as the group members' names ( space is allotted only for 3 members.)
